FAQ:
Q: Can I get my passport in less than 4-6 weeks?
A: Passports will be issued in Thailand which will take around 4-6 weeks for the issuance and transportationdeliver to the UK.
Q: If I want to collect my passport in person, how do I know when it’s ready?
A: When the Embassy receives your passport, a staff will contact you through telephone. You may collect it yourself or authorise someone elsea person to collect it on your behalf. Please bring along the receipt to collect the passport the Embassy’s office hours (Monday-Friday, 09.00-12.00 hrs.)
Q: I urgently need to go back to Thailand and cannot wait 4-6 weeks, what should I do?
A: You may apply for a 1-year emergency passport or an Emergency Travel Document (ETD) to travel to Thailand and then apply for a new passport while you are in Thailand.
Q: I live in Ireland, how can I have my passport returned by mail?
A: Please bring a 500g International Tracked & Signed envelope on the day of your appointment.
Q: How long should I renew my passport before it expires?
A: You should renew it earlier not less than 6 months before the expiry date.

Q: What should I do if the name on the Thai and Non-Thai passport is different?
A: You must change your name on the Thai House Registration in Thailand to get a new Thai National ID Card and Thai Ppassport. If you are unable to do so, you may grant power of attorney to a third person to complete the this process on your behalf

Q: I did not receive an email confirmation of the appointment, what should I do?
A: Please check you junk mailbox. You may have entered the email incorrectly or did not successfully make an appointment. Please apply for a new appointment.
Q: If both parents cannot be present in person at the Embassy, can the child obtain a new passport?
A: If both parents are unable to be present at the Embassy parent(s) cannot be present, please see Appendix 5
Q: I want to renew my passport, but my name is not listed on the Thai House Registration, what should I do?
A: The Embassy will allow for the issuance of the first Thai Ppassport (5-year validity). For subsequent passports, applicants’ name must be listed the Thai House Registration. See Appendix 1.
