Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC) |
Starting from 1 May 2025, all foreign nationals entering Thailand by air, land, and sea are required to submit the Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC).The TDAC is an online registration form for immigration purposes. Please note that the TDAC is not a visa and cannot be used in lieu of a visa. All existing visa requirements and the Visa Exemption scheme remain unchanged while this form is in effect. All travellers must complete the TDAC regardless of visa type, including those who enter Thailand under the Visa Exemption scheme. The TDAC must also be registered every time foreign visitors enter Thailand.Foreign travellers must submit the TDAC within 3 days before they arrive in Thailand. Please visit the official website of the Thai Immigration Bureau: https://tdac.immigration.go.th.The TDAC is free of charge. Please only submit your information on the above-mentioned official website, and be aware of fraudulent attempts. Do not make a payment if you have been asked to do so.

Visa Exemption Scheme |
British and Irish passport holders are permitted to enter Thailand for 60 days without a visa. To check whether you are eligible for the visa exemption or visa on arrival, please click the button below.
However, multiple entries into Thailand under the visa exemption scheme may result in the denial of entry by the immigration authorities. If you plan to travel to Thailand several times, please apply for a visa.
Please note that the visa exemption scheme for 60 days is a temporary policy. As the policy may change without prior notice, please check the latest updates at least two weeks before travelling to Thailand.
E-Visa to thailand |
A Thai E-Visa is an official authorisation issued by Thailand’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs to allow foreign nationals’ legal entry and stay in Thailand within a specific duration for various purposes.
The Royal Thai Embassy in London provides online visa application services. Physical applications are no longer accepted. All applications must be completed online via www.thaievisa.go.th.
Applicants are advised to follow the steps in the official guide or the video user manual.
To check the required documents for each visa type, please click the buttons below.
Please be informed that the Embassy is unable to issue visas for foreign nationals who are outside the UK, Ireland, or UK Territories. Despite visa services being provided online, visa applicants must remain physically in the United Kingdom (UK), Ireland, and UK Territories as the Embassy reserves the right to request an in-person interview. Accordingly, a visa application may be cancelled if the applicant departs from these countries and territories during the visa process and before a visa decision is made.
Eligibility |
The Embassy accepts visa applications from all passport holders who have an eligible immigration status and currently reside in the UK, Ireland, or UK Territories. Otherwise, it may lead to a delay in the visa process or the refusal of an application without prior notice.
The holders of refugee travel documents or other travel documents issued by the UK or Irish governments require a visa before travelling to Thailand.
In addition, most visa types will require applicants to provide proof of an official flight confirmation upon the submission of their visa applications.
The flight tickets must be issued by an airline and consist of the following information:
● Applicant’s name,
● Departure dates, and
● Full itinerary of all flights en route from the UK, Ireland, or UK Territories, to Thailand, including onward flights to other destinations (if any).
Please upload a confirmed e-ticket downloaded directly from an airline's official website. Tickets from travel agencies or tickets on hold are not accepted.
Fees |
Visa application fees vary between different visa categories. Please click here for further details regarding the fees.
It is important to note that the visa fee is non-refundable and non-transferable. The visa fee is also subject to change without prior notice.
Upon the submission of a visa application, applicants have to sign a declaration to acknowledge and accept the terms and conditions, including the following clauses.
Submission of a visa application cannot be implied that a visa will be granted, and the visa fee and all costs cannot be reimbursed with the Embassy under any circumstance. Applicants are responsible for all costs associated with the visa process and visa application. Therefore, all flight and accommodation reservations made are recommended to be refundable, exchangeable, or cancellable.
Common Mistakes to Avoid |
Applicants must fill in their names and personal information exactly as appears on their passports or travel documents. Otherwise, the application will not be processed further, and visa fees will not be refunded.
Before clicking the Submit button, applicants must ensure the accuracy of all details, particularly on their passports and travel documents. Once an application is submitted, no corrections can be made.
Uploading Documents |
Applicants will be requested to submit supporting documents for their visa applications. To successfully upload supporting documents, applicants should ensure that their documents meet the following requirements.
Compatibility: All documents should be uploaded as PDF, JPG, or JPEG files. Applicants can merge multiple files in the same category into a single PDF file. Each file should not exceed 3 megabytes. Screenshots and password-protected files are not accepted.
Clarity: All documents should be scanned or photographed in a clear and readable resolution. Please avoid cropping, blurring, or redacting of any information.
Photograph specifications: Applicants are required to submit a photograph taken within 6 months in the same manner as a passport photo, as indicated in the Photo Guide. The photograph will be attached to a visa for authentication. Please ensure that your portrait is taken with a plain white background. The photograph must be a close-up of the face and the top of the shoulders. The face must take up to 70-80 percent of the area. Please refrain from wearing sunglasses or eyeglasses.
Translation and legalisation: All supporting documents must be issued in English or Thai from official authorities in the UK, Ireland, UK Territories, or Thailand. Documents issued in other languages must be accompanied by a certified English translation and legalised by government agencies such as the Ministry of Foreign Affairs or the Embassy.
Foreign bank statements: Any bank statements issued outside of the UK, Ireland, or UK Territories, need to be submitted together with a letter from the bank stating the balance equivalent to Pound Sterling (GBP), United States Dollars (USD), or Euro (EUR).
All supporting materials must be complete and in order. The Embassy reserves the right to request additional documents, such as evidence of funds and proof of immigration status, along with an in-person interview for further consideration.
To avoid delays during the visa process, applicants must provide genuine and verifiable documents. Any unreliable or false information will lead to the rejection of a visa application and the future prohibition of entry into Thailand.
Moreover, the Embassy reserves the right to amend visa categories as deemed necessary, as well as cancel or reject any applications without prejudice.
Processing Time |
Applicants should allow enough time before applying for a visa. Applicants are recommended to submit their visa applications at least 6-8 weeks before their departure. At the earliest, applicants can apply for a visa 90 days before their intended arrival date. Please do not apply before this period.
Visa applications will be processed on a standard timeline. The current processing time is approximately 15 working days (excluding weekends and the Embassy’s official holidays). Please click here for the Embassy’s official holidays.
In the case that the Embassy requests applicants to submit additional document(s) and/or attend an in-person interview, the processing time will be extended to 15 more working days from the date that the Embassy receives ALL requested additional documents and/or an in-person interview.
The process may take up to 4-6 weeks for certain cases, depending on (but not limited to) the following factors:
● The need for further information based on individual circumstances (such as having a criminal conviction),
● Inaccurate information or unverifiable documents,
● A significant increase in the volume of visa applications, and
● Unexpected technical problem affecting the visa system.
Any visa applications made within a short timeframe between the submission and the departure date will not be considered on an urgent basis. If any applicant is found to have already left the UK, Ireland, or UK Territories before receiving their visa results, their visa applications will be cancelled without prior notice.
Please kindly note that you may be eligible for the visa exemption scheme or visa on arrival. Click here to check your eligibility.
