E-Passport Application


Thai Electronic Passport (E-Passport)

  1. Make an appointment at https://www.qpassport.in.th/ 

       For your convenience of services, please kindly check the Embassy's working hours and official holidays here.

       2. For applicants under 20 years old, both of parents are required to accompany the applicant to the Embassy. The applicant must have a copy of their Thai birth certificate before applying for a passport.

       3. You are advised not to book your travels before receiving the passport as we cannot be responsible for any cancellations.The current processing time for a Thai passport is between 4-6 weeks.

       4. The fee is £30 for 5-year passport and £45 for 10-year passport.

**Thai nationals can apply for 10-year passport only if they are 20 years old and above. Applicants must have valid Thai national ID card (original card or copy).**

**Thai nationals under 7 years old and not eligible to apply for the first Thai national ID card in THAILAND (only) but registered in the Thai House Registration can apply for a new passport with the house registration and required documents. Both parents shall be present. **

**Thai nationals 7 years old and under 20 years old **

- without the first Thai national ID card and not registered in the Thai House Registration, parents are recommended to register their child in the Thai House Registration then apply for the first Thai national ID card in Thailand.

- without the first Thai national ID card and registered in the Thai House Registration are recommended to apply for the Emergency Travel Document (ETD) to travel to Thailand. And apply for the first Thai national ID card in Thailand. 

       5. Thai nationals must bring his/her Thai Identity card to submit the passport application. 

       6. The applicant should always bring original identical paper works, passport and official photo ID to contact the Embassy. 

      7. Applicants may collect the passport in person or request for return of the passport by post (For postage returns, please provide a self-addressed pre-paid Royal Mail Special Delivery 500g envelope)

1. For applicants over 20 years old

  1. Current passport
  2. A photocopy of Thai House Registration and Thai Identity Card bearing 13-digit number
     

2. For applicants who are under 20 years old and his or her parents are married

  1. Current passport
  2. A photocopy of Thai House Registration and Thai Identity Card bearing 13-digit number
  3. A photocopy of Thai Birth Certificate
  4. A photocopy of Parents' Marriage Certificate
  5. A photocopy of Parents’ Valid Passports
  6. A photocopy of Parents’ Thai House Registration and Parents’ Thai Identity Cards (for those who are Thai nationals)
     

  3. For applicants who are under 20 years old and his or her parents are not married

  1. Current passport
  2. A photocopy of Thai House Registration and Thai Identity Card (for those over 7 years old) bearing 13-digit number
  3. A photocopy of Thai Birth Certificate
  4. A Request Form to be completed by the father, leaving the signature section blank to be signed in person in front of the Consular officer, if the child wishes to use the father’s surname - this is a consent form for the child to use the father’s surname.

    Memo to be completed by the mother, stating her familial status that she lives with the father and the child but has not registered the marriage.

  5. A photocopy of Child Custody document - Por. Kor. 14 (only for cases of lost contact with the father).

  6. A photocopy of Parents’ Valid Passports
  7. A photocopy of Parents’ Thai House Registration and Parents’ Thai Identity Cards (for those who are Thai nationals)
     

4. For applicants who are under 20 years old and his or her parents are divorced

  1. Current passport
  2. A photocopy of Thai House Registration and  Thai Identity Card (for those over 7 years old) bearing 13-digit number
  3. A photocopy of Thai Birth Certificate
  4. A photocopy of Divorce Certificate
  5. A photocopy of Child Custody Document
  6. A photocopy of Parents’ Valid Passports
  7. A photocopy of Parents’ Thai House Registration and Parents’ Thai Identity Cards (for those who are Thai nationals)


Please note:
The Royal Thai Embassy, London will issue a passport containing the first name and surname of the applicant in accordance with the personal data in House Registration Document only.

If the applicant has changed or wishes to change his/her surname after marriage or divorce, the applicant is required to bring evidence of marriage or divorce in order to apply for an amendment of his/her personal data at the District Registration Office in Thailand prior to applying for a new Electronic Passport in London.

E-Passport applicants must apply in person at the Consular Section, the Royal Thai Embassy, London.

 


 
Replace Your Passport in Cases of Lost/Stolen Passport

 

Thai Electronic Passport (E-Passport) in Cases of Lost/Stolen Passport
 

  • First, file a report of your lost/stolen passport at a local police station. In order to issue a new passport, a police report certificate is required.

  • Applicant is required to come in person. For applicants under 20 years old, both of parents are required to attend the Embassy with the applicant.
  • Applicants who have travelled to UK on Tourist Visas cannot apply for an E- passport. In this case, please contact Royal Thai Embassy for the Emergency Travel Document for a lost passport and the Emergency Travel Document for an expired passport. 
  • Processing time is about 4 - 6 weeks.
  • The fee is £30 for 5-year passport and £45 for 10-year passport.

For Thai People in the Republic of Ireland in Cases of Expired/Lost Passport

 

For Thai people in Republic of Ireland who have lost their passport or have an expired passport and wish to travel to the United Kingdom to get a new passport, please prepare the following:
 

  • File a report of your lost passport at a local police station. In order to obtain an emergency passport; a police report certificate is required (for cases of lost passports). 
  • A fully-completed copy of Form 2 – Investigation (applicant information). 
  • A fully-completed copy of Form 3 – Replacement of lost passports request form (for cases of lost passports).
  • A fully-completed copy of Form 4 - Emergency passport request form.
  • Two recent photos (size 2 x 2 inches).
  • A copy of Thai ID card / Thai House Registration / Birth Certificate 
  • Current passport (in case of expired passport), or copy of current passport (if have, in case of lost passport)
  •  Alternatively, applicants can specify in the application form that they wish to pay by debit/credit cards, and later buy UK stamps online at https://send.royalmail.com/  when the emergency passport has been produced and ready to be posted back.
  • Send all documents above (1-7) by post to Royal Thai Embassy, London. Please write on the corner of the envelope “For Emergency Passport”.
     

After you have received an emergency passport, you can apply for a UK Visa to travel to the United Kingdom to get a new e-passport from the Royal Thai Embassy, London.
