Appendix 1

Name is not listed on a Thai House Registration

  • Exemptions are only made for the first Thai passport (5-year validity)
  • For subsequent passports, your name must be listed on a Thai House Registration

*Two ways to add your name to a household registration document;

  1. Complete the process yourself in Thailand
  2. Contact the local district office for information on how to grant power of attorney to a third person to complete the process on your behalf

Appendix 2

Thai National ID card is lost/expired

Applicants may request the renewal/replacement of Thai National ID Card on the passport appointment date.

Appendix 3

Never obtained a Thai National ID card

  • Applicants must apply for the first Thai National ID Card in Thailand before applying for a Thai passport
  • Minors under 20 years old who have never been obtained a Thai National ID Card would be allowed to apply for either a five-year passport or one-year emergency passport (Parents must complete this form click here)

Appendix 4

Do not have a Thai Birth Certificate

A child born abroad must have the registration of birth at the Royal Thai Embassy/the Royal Thai Consulate-General in the country of birth before applying for a Thai passport


Appendix 5

Parents are unable to be present at the Royal Thai Embassy

Death of parent(s)

Please bring the death certificate of parent (s)

Parents are legally married

If parents are unable to be present at the Royal Thai Embassy because they reside in a different country, the parents must contact the Royal Thai Embassy/the Royal Thai Consulate-General in the country where they are residing or, the local district office/ the Department of Consular Affairs in Thailand to sign a Letter of Consent

Parents are not married; the child uses mother’s surname

Only mother is required to be present at the Royal Thai Embassy with the Child Custody Certificate (Por Kor 14) issued by the local district office 

Parents are not married; the child uses father’s surname

If father is unable to be present at the Royal Thai Embassy, mother must fill in the statement form click here

Parents are divorced

Only the parent with the custody rights is required to be present. The parent must bring the documents which indicates the custody rights.

The child was adopted

Both adoptive parents are required to be present at the Royal Thai Embassy with the adoption registration document and the passports of the adoptive parents.

Fees

*Card payments only (AMEX not accepted)

  • 10-year ordinary passport: £45
  • 5-year ordinary/official passport: £30
  • 1-year emergency passport: £10
  • Emergency Travel Document (ETD): There is no fee charged
