On 3 September 2021, Ambassador Pisanu Suvanajata paid a visit to the Joint Maritime Security Centre (JMSC) and the National Maritime Information Centre (NMIC). In addition to an extensive briefing session, he met and discussed extensively with Director Chris Chant of the JMSC to learn about best practices and explore possible areas of cooperation on maritime security management with Thailand.

The NMIC, which is part of JMSC, is a cross-government agencies unit which serves as a practical model of an efficient inter-agency unit with a combined-personnel across the relevant defence and civilian offices. Its primary mission is to collect information and intelligence, as well as identify, locate and track various maritime risks and threats to the UK, overseas territories and foreign partners.
