Minister of Foreign Affairs Exchanges Views with Team Thailand in London

          On 17 March 2026, H.E. Mr. Sihasak Phuangketkeow, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Thailand, exchanged views with Team Thailand in London at the Royal Thai Embassy in London, as part of his official trip to attend the Global Fraud Summit in Vienna, the Republic of Austria during 16-17 March 2026.

          H.E. Mr. Nadhavathna Krishnamra, Ambassador of Thailand to the UK briefed the Foreign Minister of recent developments in Thai-UK relations and cooperation as well as dynamics of Thai-UK Strategic Partnership particularly progress on the work plan under the Enhanced Trade Partnership (ETP) paving the way towards the advocacy for a comprehensive Thai-UK FTA. The Embassy’s priority for 2026 includes expanding educational cooperation with the UK at all levels under “Year of Thai-UK Education Partnership.”

          The Foreign Minister shared his vision for a forward-looking and proactive foreign policy amidst a challenging and volatile geopolitical and geo-economic landscape to reinstate Thailand onto the global radar screen. The policy directions reflect the continuity of the Government’s policies and the importance of improving efficiency and cohesiveness, particularly in the civil service system. The Foreign Minister also exchanged views with Team Thailand on prevailing regional and global issues including role of superpowers and the UK in the Indo-pacific, the central role of ASEAN and relations with neighbouring countries, Thailand’s constructive role to promote global partnership in online fraud and scams as well as situation in the Middle East and its impacts on global economy and supply chain disruptions, particularly energy.

          Furthermore, the Foreign Minister also underscored the importance of Public diplomacy, with a focus on strengthening the role of Team Thailand in seeking opportunities beneficial to Thailand in areas of trade and investment, as well as the protection of the interests of Thai nationals residing abroad.
