On 22 September 2026, His Excellency Mr. Nadhavathna Krishnamra, Ambassador of Thailand to the UK, called on Alderwoman Dame Susan Langley DBE, Lady Mayor of the City of London to discuss ways to enhance cooperation in finance and investment, in recognition of London’s status as a global financial centre, as well as foster closer links between businesses and investors in both countries.

    The two sides saw opportunities to enhance bilateral cooperation in areas with strong potential, particularly digital financial services, FinTech, green finance, green infrastructure, and clean energy. Discussions also focused on promoting investment, financial access to businesses and SMEs, emerging technologies in energy, and supporting the digital economy.

    On this occasion, the Ambassador underscored the importance of strengthening cooperation in digital finance, and an innovative financial ecosystem, as well as advancing efforts towards opening Thai-UK FTA negotiations, to keep pace with a positive momentum of Thailand-EU FTA and Thailand’s sweeping regulatory and structural reforms to achieve full membership of the OECD by 2028.
