On 5 May 2026, Ambassador Nadhavathna Krishnamra welcomed executives from Assumption College, Embley School, and the University of Essex at the Royal Thai Embassy in London. The delegation included Rev. Bro. Patcharapakorn Langbuppha, Vice Director of Assumption College, Mr. Cliff Canning, Headmaster of Embley School, UK and Mr. Simon Foster, Global Vice President at the University of Essex. Also present were Ms. Kritsana Chonweerawong, Minister, Mrs. Ornwijit Chantrangsri, Counsellor and Mr. Manakorn Mekprayoonthong, Counsellor.
On this occasion, the two sides exchanged views on the promotion of Thai-UK educational cooperation, in line with the Embassy’s key priority of advancing education collaboration between Thailand and the UK which is one of key cooperating areas under the Enhanced Trade Partnership (ETP). The Embassy has designated this year as the “Year of Thai-UK Education Partnership,” aimed at promoting and expanding educational cooperation at all levels between the two countries.
Assumption College and Embley School signed a Memorandum of Understanding on educational cooperation in October 2025. Their collaboration covers knowledge exchange, curriculum such as double diploma programs and personnel development, as well as the implementation of both short-term and long-term student exchange programs between the two institutions. Assumption College also signed a Memorandum of Understanding on educational cooperation with the University of Essex in January 2026 which includes scholarship to students from Assumption College to study at the University of Essex.
