On 21 August 2025, Ambassador Nadhavathna Krishnamra welcomed a delegation of 9 Young Water Professionals (YWP) from the International Water Association (IWA), at the Royal Thai Embassy.
Ambassador Krishnamra and the YWP delegation exchanged views on a wide range of water-related issues, including access to clean water, wastewater management, water supply and sanitation services, water innovation and technology, impacts of climate change, flood management, and sustainable water and sanitation practices. Ambassador Krishnamra underscored the importance of water resources to Thailand in various dimensions and highlighted Thailand’s commitment to advancing the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 6 (SDG 6) to ensure access to clean water and sanitation. The upcoming IWA Water and Development Congress & Exhibition, to be held in Bangkok during 8-12 December 2025, would serve as an excellent opportunity to exchange knowledge, experiences, and best practices in water management, as well as to promote regional and international cooperation.
On this occasion, the YWP delegation also visited a special exhibition in honour of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit The Queen Mother, showcasing rare historical documents and photographs from the Embassy’s archives relating to the Royal Visit to the UK by Their Majesties King Bhumibol Adulyadej The Great and Queen Sirikit in 1960, displayed at the Royal Thai Embassy throughout August.
