On 8 September 2025, Ambassador Nadhavathna Krishnamra welcomed a delegation from the Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau (TCEB) together with the founding committee of the Thailand Designers and Architects Association (THDAA), led by Mrs. Chanyaruk Qin, Senior Manager, TCEB’s Exhibitions Department and Mr. Duangrit Bunnag, Founding Committee of THDAA, at the Royal Thai Embassy.

On this occasion, the Ambassador and the delegation discussed the potential of soft power and Thailand’s design industry, which still has significant room for growth, as well as the establishment of the Thailand Designers and Architects Association (THDAA) to carry forward the work previously undertaken by the Subcommittee for Driving the Design Industry. The delegation also informed the Ambassador of the plan to organise the “Bangkok International Design Expo” in Bangkok, Thailand in 2026, with the participation of world-class designers from various countries. This initiative will further support Bangkok’s positioning as a regional hub for design.

The visit from 7–12 September 2025 coincided with the delegation’s participation in the World Design Congress 2025 in London, an important opportunity to publicise Bangkok International Design Expo and lay the groundwork for future cooperation. The Royal Thai Embassy expressed its readiness to support the Association’s initiatives and to work together to advance these plans moving forward.
