On 17 October 2025, Ambassador Nadhavathna Krishnamra had a meeting with Mr. Matthew Davies, Director for International Strategy and Trade Relations (ISTR), Department for Business and Trade (DBT), and his team at DBT to formally introduce himself and a new economic team at the Embassy. The meeting also served an opportunity to update each other on key developments and prospects for economic cooperation.

The two sides discussed progress under the Enhanced Trade Partnership (ETP) workplan, preparations for the 2^nd Thailand–United Kingdom Joint Economic and Trade Committee (JETCO) meeting to be held in Thailand, as well as prospects for launching negotiations on a Free Trade Agreement (FTA) between Thailand and the UK.
