On 3 March 2026, His Excellency Mr. Nadhavathna Krishnamra, Ambassador of Thailand to the United Kingdom, hosted a working dinner with Mr. Matt Western MP, UK Trade Envoy to Thailand, the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam, the Kingdom of Cambodia and the Lao PDR at the Ambassador’s Residence. Also participating were Mr. Charubhumi Ruangsuwan, Minister Counsellor, Mr. Manakorn Mekprayoonthong, Counsellor, and Mr. Gavin Orr, representative from the UK Department for Business and Trade.

The two sides discussed advancing economic partnership in 2026, including opportunities for enhancing cooperation in trade, investment, education, energy, digital technology, AI, and tourism. The Ambassador also provided an update on developments following Thailand’s recent general election and reaffirmed Thailand’s readiness to further strengthen cooperation with the UK, including the possibility for bilateral FTA between the two countries.
