On 2 May 2026, Ambassador Nadhavathna Krishnamra attended the 12th Health Challenge Thailand (HCT), an academic health network conference, at King’s College London. This year’s event was organised under the theme “Reimagining Health: Tech, Care and System.”

On this occasion, the Ambassador delivered the opening remarks, emphasising the importance of education and research, particularly in the field of health sciences, which play a vital role in improving the quality of life and strengthening health security at both national and global levels. He also underscored the importance of fostering collaboration among academics and professionals from diverse disciplines. The event featured keynote lectures by distinguished speakers in the UK, including: (1) Dr. Anya Suppermpool from the University College London; (2) Professor Lorenz von Seidlein from the University of Oxford; and (3) Professor Dame Anne Mills from the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine, a laureate of the 2009 Prince Mahidol Award in the field of medicine. In addition, a panel discussion on “Reimagining Health in Thailand’s Context” featured speakers from Thailand, namely (1) Dr. Jadej Thammatacharee, Secretary-General of the National Health Security Office (NHSO) of Thailand, and (2) Dr. Man Juttijudata, Deputy Secretary General and Senior Director of Strategic and Tactical Asset Allocation at the Government Pension Fund (GPF).

The conference provides a platform for participants to exchange knowledge on key challenges in health sciences, as well as to strengthen networks among Thai students and professionals in health sciences and related fields. It also serves as a venue for presenting and disseminating academic research that benefits the public. The Royal Thai Embassy in London also contributed financial support for the organisation of this event.
