On Friday 14 February 2020, Mr. Pisanu Suvanajata, Ambassador of Thailand to the UK, hosted a welcome reception at Mittra Samagom, the Royal Thai Embassy, for guest speakers, executives from Thai agencies and companies, company participants for the Samaggi Academic Conference and Career Fair, organised by Samaggi Samagom under the Royal Patronage.

The Samaggi Academic Conference and Careers Fair is an activity initiated by students, run by students, for students. This is a forum for students to learn new knowledge, exchange views with their peers, nurture new skills and creative thinking, and make new friends from different universities.

The Thai Ambassador highlighted his belief in strengths and potentials of Thai youth who are the manpower and brainpower to drive Thailand forward, and we need to provide them all opportunities to realise their full potentials. He also hoped that good research work by students who submitted their abstracts for competition would be considered by Thai agencies and companies for the possibility for commercialisation for the benefit of the general public.

The Thai Ambassador also emphasised careers opportunities in Thailand which inspired him to initiated the Careers Fair to give careers advice to Thai students and encourage them to return to work in Thailand to help advance the country.

The welcome reception was entertained throughout the evening by the Shrewsbury 4.3, a student band with professional talents. Indeed, this event is truly a platform for Thai students to pool their strengths and showcase their talents, balancing between their academic excellence and other creative skills.
