On 23 October 2019, Ambassasdor Pisanu Suvanajata presided over a Buddhist ceremony in remembrance of His Majesty King Chulalongkorn at the Office of Education Affairs, London. Attendants included members of Team Thailand in London and their spouses, Friends of Thailand as well as members of the Thai community in the UK.

His Majesty King Chulalongkorn visited the UK during his state visit to Europe in 1897, which laid the strong foundation of friendship and cordial relations between the two countries. During the Royal visit to Europe, His Majesty King Chulalongkorn took the opportunity to cultivate relationships between the two monarchies and their peoples. It was a tactful strategy in maintaining independence of the Kingdom of Siam, now Thailand, uplifting the country with modernisation, which has become a solid foundation of Thailand’s progress and developments nowadays.
