FAQ:

Q: Can I request the first Thai National ID Card at the Royal Thai Embassy?
A: The issuance of the first Thai National ID card can only be done processed at the local district office in Thailand.

Q: Can I renew my Thai National ID Card more than 60 days before the expiry date?
A: You cannot apply for a new Thai national ID Ccard if the validity period of current card still has a validity period ofis more than 60 days remaining, except in cases of a lost or damaged card, or name/address/title changes.

Q: Do minor applicants (under 20 years old) need to be accompanied by a parent to apply for a Thai National ID card?
A: Minors may apply for a Thai National ID card on their own.

Q: Can I walk-in to apply for get a new Thai National ID Card?
A: Applicants may walk-in during the Embassy’s working hours (Monday-Friday 9:00-12:00) with all required documents. However, we recommend applicants to book an appointment through [email protected] so that the Embassy’s staff can provide further guidance.

Q: How long does it take to get a new Thai National ID Card?
A: The processing time is approximately one hour.
