NON-IMMIGRANT VISA TYPE M Mass Media

(Mass Media of Communication)

Eligible Applicants for M Visas

- This category of visa is issued to applicants who wish to enter the Kingdom to work as a film producer, journalist, or reporter.

- Filming The applicant must request in advance approval from the Thailand Film Office, Department of Tourism, Ministry of Tourism and Sport.

- To work as a journalist or reporter, the applicant must request in advance approval from the Department of Information, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Thailand. For short term assignment, such as to cover news on natural disasters or international meetings/ sports competition which do not require media registration in advance, the applicant may apply for Non-Immigrant Visa Category “B” (Business).    

 

M Visa Conditions

- The M Visa is valid for a single entry into Thailand.

- The M Visa is valid for 90 days from the date of issuance. Travellers must enter Thailand within the said 90-day period. They will be allowed to stay in Thailand for a period of up to 90 days, counting from the date of entry. During the 90-day period of stay, if they wish to leave and re-enter Thailand, they are required to apply for a re-entry permit (single or multiple) before departure. If they leave Thailand without a re-entry permit, the current stay permit shall be considered void.

- The extension of stay is at the discretion of the immigration officer. Extension application can be made at the Office of Immigration Bureau (visit www.immigration.go.th for more information)

- If the M Visa holder breaches the entry conditions, the stay permit will be revoked and he/she will be prohibited from entering Thailand in the future.

Non-Immigrant Visa/ Non-M (Single / Multiple) - Media / Press based in Thailand      

  1. Biodata page of Passport or Travel Document

  2. Photograph taken within the last six months
    - If the photograph does not reflect your current appearance you may be refused to enter the Kingdom of Thailand.

  3. Document indicating current location
    - Applicant’s local utility bills (shows your name and address) e.g. electricity bill/ gas / mobile phone / rental agreement.

  4. Financial evidence: amount of no less than 30,000 THB (£700 for Single), 120,000 THB (£2,800 for Multiple), e.g. bank statements, sponsorship letter
    - Applicant’s recent official UK/Ireland bank statement shows your name, address (Screenshots are not accepted)

  5. Letter from Department of Information
