On 26 October 2026, H.E. Mr. Nadhavathna Krishnamra, Ambassador of Thailand to the UK, together with officials of the Royal Thai Embassy in London, welcomed three Thai Chevening scholars who are among 14 Thai students pursuing postgraduate studies at universities in London for the 2026 - 2027 academic year, at the Royal Thai Embassy in London.

On this occasion, the Ambassador congratulated the scholars on being awarded the scholarships and offered words of encouragement, emphasising the importance of education and the application of the knowledge and skills acquired to contribute to individual careers and Thailand’s future development. The Ambassador also highlighted the importance of educational cooperation between Thailand and the UK under the “Year of Thai-UK Education Partnership,” which presents an important opportunity to strengthen bilateral relations and further expand educational collaboration between the two countries.

The Chevening Scholarship is a UK Government scholarship programme that supports outstanding individuals with leadership potential from around the world to pursue postgraduate studies at master’s degree level in the UK. The programme aims to develop their professional capabilities, facilitate knowledge exchange, and foster international networks and cooperation. In the 2026–2027 academic year, more than 700 scholars from around the world have been awarded Chevening Scholarships. Among them are 14 Thai scholars, who are pursuing master’s degrees in a wide range of academic fields at universities across the UK. The scholarship provides an important foundation for developing human resources and strengthening long-term education cooperation between Thailand and the UK.
