On 7 February 2023, Mr. Prayoon Inskul, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives of Thailand met with Miss Lucy Smith, Director General for Strategy, Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs of the United Kingdom, to discuss collaboration to promote bilateral relations on Agriculture. On this occasion, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Agricultural Cooperation was signed to enhance bilateral collaboration on agriculture, horticulture, animal husbandry, fisheries, aquaculture, food processing, agricultural policy, and other cooperative activities and projects including exchanging information, technology and training, promoting research and technical cooperation, and reducing non-tariff trade barriers.

The MoU on agricultural cooperation also marks another milestone following the first Joint Economic and Trade Committee (JETCO) meeting in June 2022 between Thailand and the United Kingdom. This is an important step to pave the way towards our mutual goal of Enhanced Trade Partnership (ETP) in the near future.
