On 16 July 2025, Ambassador Nadhavathna Krishnamra, presided over the 1st Meeting of the Association of Thai Businesses in the United Kingdom (ATBUK) for the year 2025. The meeting was attended by 21 participants, including Thai businesses and Thai-related businesses, representatives from the Royal Thai Embassy, the Office of Commercial Affairs in London and the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) London Office. The meeting focused on revitalising the work of the ATBUK, which had faced significant challenges during the COVID-19 pandemic, and the appointment of an interim executive committee to drive the Association forward. The ATBUK plays a key role in supporting members’ business activities, including on legal and visa matters, providing information on trade and investment, as well as offering opportunities for business promotion through various channels and upcoming events in the UK.

Established in 2009, the ATBUK comprises members from a wide range of Thai businesses as well as Thai-related businesses in the UK, such as restaurants, supermarkets, spas, beverage companies, hotels, banks, airlines, media, and training institutions. The Association’s key objective is to support the operation of its members in the United Kingdom and to help address challenges they encounter. The ATBUK has also conducted activities that help promote Thainess as well as Thai food and products. In the past, events such as seminars on UK immigration regulations, work permit applications, and Thai culinary skill development training programmes have been organised under ATBUK auspices.
