From 17-19 July 2026, the Royal Thai Embassy and Team Thailand in London hosted the Thai Festival: Thailand Showcase 2026 at Potters Fields Park, London as one of the flagship cities for the Thai Festival in 2026 with the theme "Creative Life and Creative Heartbeat". The event showcased Thailand's cultural heritage and creative economy through creativity and innovation to international audiences.
Over three days, the Thai Festival at Potters Fields Park beside London’s iconic Tower Bridge attracted over 100,000 visitors, including Brits, foreigners, Thais and tourists. This made it the largest Thai Festival ever organised by the Royal Thai Embassy and Team Thailand in London in terms of both attendance and scale.
The Thai Festival featured 54 exhibitors and partner organisations, Thai SELECT restaurants, Thai food and beverage businesses, grocery suppliers, craft and creative product entrepreneurs, airlines, as well as Thai government agencies and Team Thailand in the UK. This marked the highest number of exhibitors and partners ever assembled for the Thai Festival in London, demonstrating strong collaboration within “Team Thailand” in promoting Thailand's visibility and economic potential on the international stage.
This year’s Thai Festival also regaled visitors with a wide range of immersive experiences. Highlights included the “Chud Thai Exhibition” and AI Photo Booth arranged by the Royal Thai Embassy featuring Thai national costume which is being nominated as part of the intangible cultural heritage of humanity at UNESCO; Muay Thai demonstrations and workshops hosted by the Thai Trade Centre in London; Thai traditional fragrance-making and marine debris keychain workshops organised by the Tourism Authority of Thailand, London Office; live Thai cultural performances, cultural parade, and a fashion show featuring the eight styles of Thai traditional costume presented by the Faculty of Music and Drama, Bunditpatanasilpa Institute of Thailand; and fashion show of contemporary Thai dresses by young Thai label KANAPOT. The Embassy also promoted the Thai Government’s “Thailand as Kitchen of the World” campaign through Thai food cooking demonstration and screenings of documentaries on Thai food. Visitors also enjoyed a curated Thai Pop Playlist and a lucky draw supported by generous prizes from partner airlines, hotel groups, and corporate sponsors.
The Embassy also presented Thailand’s local wisdom and creative economy with craft products and creative handicrafts by master craftsmen from the Sustainable Arts and Crafts Institute of Thailand (Public Organization) or SACIT, alongside innovative and sustainable textile products presented by the National Research Council of Thailand (NRCT). These exhibits showcased Thailand’s cultural heritage while connecting Thailand to the world through creativity and identity.
The Thai Festival: Thailand Showcase 2026 not only underscores the strong appreciation of Thailand among British and international audiences, but is also a reaffirmation of the role of the Thai Festival as a platform for promoting Thailand's Soft Power and economic potential through its cuisine, arts and culture, tourism, creative economy, and innovation. The festival further contributes to creating new opportunities for trade, investment and tourism, while further strengthening the long-standing friendship between Thailand and the UK, especially at the people-to-people level.
The Royal Thai Embassy in London would like to express its sincere appreciation to all government agencies, private sector partners, sponsors, exhibitors, volunteers, performers, and everyone who attended the Thai Festival. Your invaluable support and participation contributed to the success of the Thai Festival: Thailand Showcase 2026 and helped showcase the richness, creativity, and contemporary spirit of Thailand. We look forward to presenting different dimensions of Thainess in the UK again next year.
