Official Launch of Thailand in UK Marketplace: The First Digital Thai Town

On 17 September 2021, Ambassador Pisanu Suvanjata, joined hands with Team Thailand and Thai businesses in the UK, including Thai Beverage, King Power, CPF, Bangkok Bank, Landmark Lancaster Group, PTT, Patara and Moonsoon Valley, officially launched “ThailandinUK Marketplace”, the first ever digital Thai town at the Royal Thai Embassy, London.
 
In opening, Ambassador Pisanu highlighted that “ThailandinUK Marketplace” is engineered to be a user-friendly / user-driven digital platform. Hosted as a Facebook Group, with a parallel digital platform to add tech features, it provides due diligence for security and privacy of members of the community. As the first digital Thai town, this non-profitable platform provides an excellent communication and marketing channel that connects Thai people and businesses without borders. Building a sense of “Thai community” and “Thainess” is at the heart of “ThailandinUK Marketplace”. In addition, it aims to help Thai SMEs/MSMEs learning to adapt to e-commerce and digitalization.
The launch was widely participated by Thai and UK businesses, friends of Thailand and members of ThailandinUK Marketplace. Top executives of Thai businesses also participated to conveyed their words of support, including (1) Tosaporn Sihanatkathakul, Executive Director, Landmark Lancaster Group (2) Susan Whelan, CEO of Leicester City Football Club and (3) Geoff Tirrell, Commercial Director, Chang Beer (UK), among others.
 
​In addition, prominent Thai influencers attended and gave exclusive reviews of “ThailandinUK Marketplace”, including IT personality “Cee Chatpawee Lotharukpong” known as Thailand’s IT Princess, and Peachii-Pichaya Chaichana, a famous Thai youtuber,both have more than over a million followers each.
 
The highlights that brings smiles to ThailandinUK Marketplace members at the launch was the lucky draw for (1) two pairs of football tickets (Leicester City Vs Manchester United) from Chang Beer UK (2) Leicester City Football t-shirts sponsored by King Power (3) Staycation at The Royal Lancaster Hotel, London. Names of the lucky winners to be announced shortly.
 
​The success of the launch of ThailandinUK marketplace is a good kickstart for this new digital Thai town, that bridges genuine Thai partnership and solidarity across various sectors, from government, private sector to people. From the soft launch three weeks earlier, subscribers to the platform have reached over 3,500, reflecting positive response of the Thai community and awareness in online marketing. The Royal Thai Embassy encourages further support from the Thai community and Thai people to make “ThailandinUK Marketplace” a “stronger together” digital platform for all of you.
