On 16 September 2025, Ambassador Nadhavathna Krishnamra presided over the opening of the roundtable seminar on “Business and Investment Opportunities in Thailand: Advanced Electronics Industry” at the Pullman London St. Pancras Hotel. The seminar was organised by the Thailand Board of Investment, Paris Office, to present Thailand’s investment promotion policies, incentives and business opportunities to UK investors in the advanced electronics industry.

In his remarks, the Ambassador welcomed participants and highlighted the importance of enhancing economic and investment cooperation between Thailand and the UK, particularly in 2025, which marks the 170th anniversary of diplomatic relations. The two countries have already signed the Enhanced Trade Partnership (ETP) with the potential to advance toward FTA negotiation in the future.

On this occasion, Ms. Nantanart Krisnachinda, Director of Thailand Board of Investment (Paris Office), provided information on investment incentives and business operations in Thailand’s advanced electronics industry. Representatives from the UK Department for Business and Trade, namely Mr. Zakariya Oozeerally, Head of Bilateral Trade Relations with Thailand, and Mr. Gavin Orr, Senior Trade Policy Adviser, shared insights into UK government support for doing business with Thailand, particularly in the semiconductor sector.

In addition, Mr. Stuart Knight, Managing Director of Cherrytech Group, shared his direct experience with electronics component manufacturing business in Lamphun province, Thailand, which has received investment promotion priviledges by the Board of Investment.

Thailand has strong potential in the advanced electronics industry, being the number one producer of printed circuit boards (PCB) in ASEAN and among the world’s top five producers. Thailand is also committed to developing infrastructure, human resources, and the industrial ecosystem to serve as a regional hub for investment in high-technology industries.
