On 19 December 2023 at Áras an Uachtaráin, the official residence of the President of Ireland, H.E. Mr. Thani Thongphakdi presented the Letters of Credence appointing him as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Thailand to Ireland to President Michael D. Higgins. On this occasion, both discussed the close ties of friendship and cooperation between Thailand and Ireland, especially in the areas of tourism, trade and investment, environment conservation, culture and people-to-people ties.
