On 12 May 2026, His Excellency Mr. Nadhavathna Krishnamra, Ambassador of Thailand to the UK, met with Seema Malhotra MP, Minister for the Indo-Pacific of the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office, to pursue momentum of Thai-UK cooperation. Updates were provided on security, economic, education and energy issues as well progress on Thailand’s accession to OECD, and possibility of bilateral FTA negotiations, as well as regional developments.

        In this regard, both sides also discussed preparations for the upcoming 6th Thailand-UK Strategic Dialogue, which will be held in Bangkok on 25 May 2026 during Minister Malhotra’s visit to Thailand. The Strategic Dialogue serves as a key mechanism for advancing the Thailand-UK Strategic Partnership, as well as for discussing issues of mutual interest between the two countries.
