On 4 September 2026, H.E. Mr. Nadhavathna Krishnamra, Ambassador of Thailand to the UK, welcomed the first cohort of 21 Thai government scholarship students under the Outstanding Development Opportunity Scholarship (ODOS) programme at the Royal Thai Embassy in London. On this occasion, the Ambassador delivered welcoming remarks at a preparatory session ahead of the commencement of their studies in the UK. He emphasised the importance of making the most of this educational opportunity to develop their full potential through first-hand learning about the UK and help presenting Thailand to the world, while embracing new experiences and learning from living and studying abroad, with a view to bringing back the knowledge, skills and experiences they gain to contribute to the development of Thailand in the future. After arrival in the UK, the first cohort of ODOS scholarship students have participated in a five-week English-language Summer STEM Course in Brighton. They will subsequently undertake a one-year Foundation Programme as preparation for university, followed by three years of undergraduate study.
The Royal Thai Embassy in London is pleased to welcome the ODOS scholarship students throughout their studies and stay in the UK, and wishes all the students every success in their educational endeavours. The Embassy encourages them to make the most of this valuable opportunity and experience to grow into an important generation of young people who will be a driving force for the development of Thailand in the future.
