On 9th August 2026, H.E. Mr. Nadhavathna Krishnamra, Ambassador of Thailand to the UK, presided over merit-making ceremony and Buddhist rituals to celebrate the auspicious occasion of His Majesty King Maha Vajiralongkorn Phra Vajiraklaochaoyuhua’s Birthday Anniversary on 28 July 2026 and to pay tribute to Her Majesty Queen Sirikit The Queen Mother and Her Royal Highness Princess Bajrakitiyabha Narendiradebyavati Kromluangrajasarinisiribajra Mahavajrarajadhita, as well as to commemorate the 10th Anniversary of Wat Arun Norfolk UK, Norwich. Mrs. Priabthip Krishnamra, spouse of Ambassador, Mr Charubhumi Ruangsuwan, Minister Counsellor and spouse, as well as over 100 Thais and Brits in the UK also participated in the event.

During the ceremony, the Ambassador read the well-wishing message for His Majesty the King’s good health, long life, and happiness before performing ceremonial rites and paying tribute to Her Majesty Queen Sirikit The Queen Mother and Her Royal Highness Princess Bajrakitiyabha Narendiradebyavati Kromluangrajasarinisiribajra Mahavajrarajadhita. The Ambassador also offered sets of monk’s robes, graciously bestowed by His Majesty the King, to the monks attending the ceremony as well as joining the candle procession, carrying monk’s bathing cloth, and money tree to be presented to the sangha monastery at Wat Arun UK Norwich, with members of the Thai and local community in the UK.
