On 14 July 2025, H.E. Mr. Nadhavathna Krishnamra, Ambassador of Thailand to the UK, met with Deputy Ian Gorst, Minister for External Relations of Jersey at the Royal Thai Embassy. 

During the meeting, the two sides discussed ways to promote cooperation in various areas, including fostering bilateral engagement and promoting cooperation in the financial sector, especially in the context of the Thai Government’s initiative to promote Thailand as a financial hub. On this issue, as Jersey is one of the world’s leading financial centers, Deputy Gorst expressed Jersey’s readiness to support Thailand in this endeavor.

In addition, the two sides discussed the merit of enhancing treaty engagement between Thailand and the UK, extending to Jersey and Thailand’s process of accession to the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), to which Jersey expressed its support in principle for the expansion of OECD membership.
