On 7 October 2026, H.E. Mr. Nadhavathna Krishnamra, Ambassador of Thailand to the UK, and Mrs. Priabthip Krishnamra, spouse of the Ambassador, together with officials from the Royal Thai Embassy in London, visited the Southeast Asia Gallery at the British Museum in London. They were warmly welcomed by Dr. Xerxes Mazda, Director of Collections, Dr. Alexandra Green, Curator for Southeast Asia and the representatives of the British Museum. Ambassadors, High Commissioners and representatives from ASEAN members countries in the UK also attended.

The newly opened Southeast Asia Gallery, located in the Members & Supporters Room of the British Museum, features significant antiquities and works of art from the Museum’s collections, reflecting the diverse stories, histories, arts and cultures of countries across Southeast Asia. Scheduled to be on display for an initial period of three years, the gallery will serve as an important platform for showcasing the rich cultural diversity and artistic heritage of Southeast Asia to the British and international public. It also provides an opportunity to promote greater understanding and appreciation of the region’s deep-rooted history, art and cultural heritage, including Thailand’s cultural heritage.
