On 11 November 2025, Ambassador Nadhavathna Krishnamra met with Mr. Matt Western, the United Kingdom’s Trade Envoy to Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia, and Laos, at the UK Parliament (Portcullis House) to exchange views on how to promote economic partnership.

On this occasion, Mr. Western expressed his condolences on the passing of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit The Queen Mother. The two sides then exchanged views on progress regarding Thai-UK economic cooperation, including (1) implementation of the Enhanced Trade Partnership (ETP) workplan (2) preparations for the 2^nd Thailand-United Kingdom Joint Economic and Trade Committee (JETCO) meeting to be held in Thailand in early 2026 (3) cooperation on digital trade and (4) cooperation on energy and energy transition. In addition, the Ambassador took this opportunity to further advocate for the possibility of launching comprehensive Free Trade Agreement (FTA) negotiations between Thailand and the UK.
