On 16 May 2026, His Excellency Mr. Nadhavathna Krishnamra, Ambassador of Thailand to the United Kingdom, attended the opening ceremony of the Zero-to-One Forum, under the topic “The Future of Thailand’s Innovation: From Research to Market Opportunity”, at Imperial College London, during which H.E. Prof. Dr. Yodchanan Wongsawat, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation, delivered a live keynote address virtually. The forum was organised by the Thai Society Innovation Network (TSIN) to discuss ways to advance research commercialisation of Thai students in the UK, with participation of more than 80 Thai students and researchers from universities across the UK.
On this occasion, the Ambassador delivered opening remarks emphasising the importance of developing a robust ecosystem for scientific research and innovation to translate research publications into innovations that generate value for products, industries, and the Thai economy. Such efforts would help strengthen Thailand’s competitiveness and sustainable economic development, particularly in future industries such as AI, electric vehicles, semiconductors, food innovation, life sciences and biotechnology, and clean energy. They are also aligned with Thailand’s Science Diplomacy Strategy currently being developed jointly between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation, and related agencies.
The Thai Society Innovation Network (TSIN) was established in February 2023 to serve as a network connecting Thai students in the UK studying in the fields of science, technology, engineering, mathematics, and business, through activities to enhance personal development and advance Thailand’s innovation development.
