On 18 March 2026, H.E. Mr. Nadhavathna Krishnamra, Ambassador of Thailand to the United Kingdom, co-chaired the 2nd roundtable meeting between the Royal Thai Embassy and the British Chamber of Commerce Thailand (BCCT). The Thai side was represented by Members of Team Thailand in London responsible for economic affairs, including Minister (Economic and Financial), Minister (Customs) based in Brussels, Minister (Education), Minister Counsellor (Investment) based in Paris, Minister Councellor (Science and Technology) based in Brussels, and Counsellor (Commercial). The UK private sector was led by Ms. Pinyapa Somphong, Chair of BCCT, together with BCCT executive team and representatives from BCCT member companies, including Shell, Wellington College International, Amnesty International Thailand, PCS Thailand, University of Reading, University of Leicester, British Council, Pearson, Advance HE, and British Expertise International, as well as representatives from the UK–ASEAN Business Council and the British Chamber of Commerce in London.
This 2nd Roundtable Meeting with the BCCT is part of ongoing efforts to push forward the positive momentum in Thailand-UK economic relations and cooperation. Participants exchanged views on ways to promote trade and investment in Thailand, as well as opportunities and challenges of conducting business in Thailand. The discussion placed particular emphasis on enhancing education cooperation between Thailand and the UK, including encouraging leading academic institutions to consider expanding their investment in Thailand, to support the country’s long-term academic ecosystem and human capital development, which is in line with the Embassy’s priority work plan to designate this year as “Year of Thai-UK Education Partnership”.
After the meeting, the Ambassador delivered opening remarks at the Networking Reception between Team Thailand in London and Thai-British businesses. The event was attended by approximately 100 participants, comprising Thai and British business leaders and entrepreneurs. The reception provided a platform to further explore business opportunities and to reinforce trade and investment ties between Thailand and the UK.
