On 16 October 2026, H.E. Mr. Nadhavathna Krishnamra, Ambassador of Thailand to the UK, as Chair of the ASEAN London Committee (ALC), led the ALC in a courtesy call on Lord Leong CBE, Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State (Minister for Small Business and Enterprise), the UK Department for Business, Innovation, Science and Trade, and exchanged views to strengthen ASEAN-UK economic and educational cooperation.

Discussions covered opportunities to promote trade and investment between ASEAN and the UK, particularly ways to forge closer cooperation and partnership with Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs), by exploring more opportunities to meet, exchange information and build partnerships with SMEs. Opportunities for cooperation in vocational education and training to support ASEAN’s efforts in human resource development were also discussed.
