On 21 March 2025 Ambassador Nadhavathna Krishnamra received Mr. Surajit Pongsinghvitaya, President of the Bangkok Metropolitan Council, and exchanged experiences on local economic and political development in London, as well as the overall relationship between Thailand and the United Kingdom. Mr. Surajit led a delegation of 12 members of the Bangkok Metropolitan Council to London for meetings with the London Assembly and site visits at the invitation of Mr. Andrew Boff, Chair of the London Assembly. The visit aimed to initiate relations, including discussions on the possibility of a framework for a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), as well as learning about good practices, such as on waste management using electric waste collection vehicles and the administration of Urban Low Emission Zones (ULEZ).
