On February 24, 2025, H.E. Mr. Nadhavathna Krishnamra hosted a luncheon in honour of the All-Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) for Thailand and its members led by Mr. Mark Garnier, Chair of the APPG and a Conservative MP who was previously the UK Prime Minister's trade envoy to Thailand, Lord Brady of Altrincham, former Chair of the APPG for Thailand and member of the House of Lords and, as well as Mr. Neil Shastri-Hurst, a Conservative MP.

The APPG for Thailand is a cross-party group comprising MPs and Members of the House of Lords with a common interest in promoting cooperation between the United Kingdom and Thailand in all aspects including exchanges between parliaments, economic and trade cooperation and overall bilateral relations.

During the luncheon, the Ambassador expressed his determination to cooperate closely with the APPG to strengthen bilateral relations. The two sides discussed prospects for a Free Trade Agreement between the UK and Thailand as well as the proposal for visa exemptions for Thai passport holders traveling to the UK. The discussion also covered various key international developments and future plans, including the APPG visiting Thailand later in 2025 which would provide important opportunities for the group to engage with key legislative, executive, and private sector representatives in order to further foster cooperation.
