On 5 December 2019, the Royal Thai Embassy in London hosted the Thai National Day Reception in Mittra Samakhom Ballroom, Royal Thai Embassy, for the diplomatic corps and Friends of Thailand in the UK, as well as patrons of the Embassy. This occasion was to mark the Birthday Anniversary of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej the Great, the National Day, and Thailand’s Father’s Day. Mr. Alistair Harrison, Her Majesty’s Marshal of Diplomatic Corps, was the guest of honour, with over 350 guests attending the reception.

Mr. Pisanu Suvanajata, Ambassador of Thailand to the United Kingdom, delivered his remarks, focusing on the “new chapter” of the bilateral relations between Thailand and the United Kingdom, as the year 2020 marks the 165th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two Kingdoms. In his remarks, Mr. Alistair Harrison praised Thailand’s roles on many fronts, and expressed his readiness to work closely to further promote the relations and cooperation with Thailand on all areas of mutual interests.  Both the Ambassador and the Marshal proposed toasts for the continued good health and longevity to His Majesty King Maha Vajiralongkorn Bodindradebayavarangkun and Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, and for the longlasting relations between the two nations.
