Ambassador of Thailand to the UK attends the seminar “Secret Allies: The SOE and the Thai Resistance in the Second World War”

          On 11 April 2026, Ambassador Nadhavathna Krishnamra and Mrs. Priabthip Krishnamra, spouse, together with official from the Royal Thai Embassy, attended the seminar “Secret Allies: The Special Operations Executive (SOE) and the Thai Resistance in the Second World War.” The event was organised by the Anglo-Thai Society in collaboration with the Secret WW2 Learning Network at The National Archives in London.

          On this occasion, the Ambassador delivered opening remarks, referring to the cooperation between the UK’s SOE and the Thai resistance movement during the Second World War. He highlighted their role in intelligence operations and networks in Thailand, which represent another aspect of the longstanding ties between Thailand and the UK.

          The seminar featured distinguished speakers who shared their expertise and insights, including: (1) Mr. Paul McCue, Executive Trustee of the Secret WW2 Learning Network, (2) Ms. Kate Reid-Smith, military historian, and (3) Mr. Gee Thomson, a descendant of UK-basedThai nationals who operated in Thailand. The session was moderated by Mr. Padej Kumlertsakul from The National Archives and joined by approximately 80 participants, including members of the ATS, Thai students, and enthusiasts.
