Ambassador Pisanu expressed confidence on positive economic prospects and reiterated Thailand is on track to return to normality with vaccine rollouts and vaccine digital certification in place which will pave the way for vaccine travel corridors.

A plan to lift the lockdown and the phuket sandbox initiative are in the pipeline for the coming months. He also hightlighted that in this Post COVID-19 'New Chapter' of Thailand-UK strategic partnership, Brexit, the Global Britain strategy and Integrated Review (IR) as well as the global megatrends will reinforce the potentials and the need to engage the Indo-Pacific.

Given Thailand's roadmap to opening up, its recovery progress, increased regional connectivity and new established bilateral platforms, especially the Thailand-UK Joint Trade Policy Review/Joint Economic and Trade Committee (JETCO), Ambassador Pisanu projected our POST-COVID19 ties to deeepen, and encouraged UK businesses to engage in future sectors, i.e. healthcare, food and digital industries, without delay.
