On 3 July 2024, Ambassador Thani Thongphakdi was the guest of honour at the exclusive networking event at Guildhall, London, hosted by the Institute of Directors (IoD), a membership-based organization for directors that aims to connect management executives from different businesses and different sectors in the UK and beyond.

During his remarks, Ambassador Thani provided an update on Thailand’s policies, especially on the Government’s efforts to achieve sustainable economic growth, including (1) the 30/30 policy aimed at promoting electric vehicles (EVs), (2) transition plans towards a low-carbon economy, (3) legal and regulation guillotine to promote ease of doing business in Thailand, (4) the Vision 2030 to promote Thailand as a regional hub in various areas from tourism to aviation and from finance to life science. In this regard, Ambassador Thani invited the UK private sector to explore Thailand’s potential and investment opportunities, including in the Landbridge project. More than 50 representatives from the UK private sector attended the event.
