On 14 November 2025, Ambassador Nadhavathna Krishnamra, his wife and Counsellor Ornwijit Chantrangsri attended the closing ceremony of the One District One Scholarship Summer Camp (ODOS Summer Camp) at the University of Leicester, in which a total of 50 Thai youths participated. The Ambassador delivered closing remarks and presented certificates together with Professor Nishan Canagarajah, President and Vice-Chancellor of the University of Leicester, and Ms. Kamonthip Netthanomsak, Interim Managing Director of Leicester City Football Club (LCFC), to the participating students.
Prior to the closing ceremony, the Ambassador discussed with Professor Canagarajah regarding academic partnership and cooperation between the University of Leicester and universities in Thailand, including Chulalongkorn University, Mahidol University, Khon Kaen University, and Assumption University. This year marks the first year of the ODOS Summer Camp programme, which has been highly successful. Professor Canagarajah commended the Thai students for their enthusiasm, knowledge, capability, and keen interest in technology-related subjects. As part of the programme, the University of Leicester also arranged for the Thai students to visit important sites, such as the Space Park Leicester innovation centre and LCFC.
The ODOS Summer Camp 2025 brought a total of 928 Thai youths to attend a six-week short course designed to enhance digital knowledge and skills from October to November 2025 at leading universities and technology companies in nine countries, namely Australia, China, Estonia, Finland, Japan, South Korea, Singapore, the United States, and the United Kingdom. In the United Kingdom, 150 Thai students participated in the programme arranged between 5 October and 16 November 2025 at the University of Leicester, the University of Surrey, and the University of Essex, with 50 students at each institution. The ODOS Summer Camp 2026 will also be organised from March to May 2026.
