Thai Ambassador met with DIT’s Director to discuss a joint work plan for Trade Policy Review report and the prospect of the bilateral trade agreement between Thailand and the UK

On 22 January 2020 at Sri Ayudhya Room, Royal Thai Embassy London,  Ambassador Pisanu Suvanajata had a meeting with Mr. Christopher Barton, Director of Multilateral Trade, Department of International Trade (DIT) of the UK, and his team on Asia Pacific, on work plan of respective Trade Policy Review (TPR) reports.
 
This meeting took place at crucial juncture as the UK is going to leave the EU on 31 January 2020 while Thailand is undertaking new strategy to transform her macro-economic structure through creative economy and innovation. Both sides welcomed this opportunity to discuss their areas of interests in the bilateral trade (such as, education, insurance, and financial services) and their respective work plans for the TPR reports, their proposed structure and timeline for the joint TPR report, which will be used as a foundation for their bilateral trade and future economic cooperation. Through this shared  enthusiasm and spirits of friendship and cooperation, both sides  agreed to continue their meeting on regular basis to ensure that the joint TPR report will be effectively practical and serves mutual benefits of both countries.
