On the morning of 15 May 2019, Ambassador Pisanu Suvanajata, together with other heads of ASEAN mission in London, met the Rt. Hon. Jeremy Hunt MP, Foreign Secretary of the UK. They discussed the future direction of the UK – ASEAN relations, where both sides recognized the potential and opportunities in the areas of mutual benefits, such as education, sustainable development, and the regional and global security. The UK has shown great interests to take part in the new Era of ASEAN and Asia, while ALC welcomes the UK’s commitment and comprehensive engagement in the region. The Thai Ambassador also expressed Thailand’s readiness to working constructively both in bilateral and regional contexts with the UK, of which Thailand is the current Chair of ASEAN in 2019.
