**Promotion of Thai food and culture through Young Chef Competition**

On 2 April 2019, H.E. Mr. Pisanu Suvanajata, Ambassador of Thailand to the UK, joined the panel of judges at Westminster Kingsway College in the Young Chef Competition 2019, organised by Office of Commercial Affairs in London.

The contestant chefs created and prepared Thai menus inspired by Thai ingredients and seasonings, and were judged based on the Thainess of the dish, taste and presentation.  7 finalists, all non-Thai, were selected to cook for the panel of judges, and the winner was awarded a culinary trip of a life time to learn more about Thailand and its cultures and food.  These young chefs will serve as food ambassadors who will help further cement close ties between Thailand and the UK.

Young Chef Competion was part of the Thailand : Kitchen of the World project, in collaboration with Westminster Kingsway College, a leading culinary institution in the UK, and sponsored by Department of International Trade Promotion, Thai Airways International, and Dusit Thani Education.
