       His Majesty King Maha Vajiralongkorn Phra Vajiraklaochaoyuhua and Her Majesty Queen Suthida Bajrasudhabimalalakshana of Thailand visited the United Kingdom at the invitation of His Majesty King Charles the Third of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland to attend the Coronation Ceremony of His Majesty King Charles the Third and Her Majesty Queen Camilla during 4-6 May 2023.

       On 4 May 2023, Their Majesties The King and Queen of Thailand arrived at London Stansted Airport with Mr. Thani Thongphakdi, Ambassador of Thailand to the United Kingdom, Mr. Simon Brice, Deputy Lieutenant of Essex, Special Representative of His Majesty King Charles the Third, and Mr. Michael John Halloway, Special Representative of Secretary of State for Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Affairs of the United Kingdom, in attendance.

       During the visit, Their Majesties The King and Queen attended His Majesty the King’s Reception at Buckingham Palace on 5 May 2023, during which Their Majesties were graciously welcomed by His Majesty King Charles the Third and met with His Royal Highness the Prince of Wales, as well as other Foreign Monarchs.

       On 6 May 2023, Their Majesties the King and Queen attended the Royal Coronation of His Majesty King Charles the Third and Her Majesty Queen Camilla at Westminster Abbey.

       This Royal Visit of Their Majesties the King and Queen reaffirms the close and special Thai-UK royal ties, underpinned by the longstanding tradition of frequent exchange of visits with His Majesty the King visiting the United Kingdom on various occasions. Among others, His Majesty the (then His Royal Highness the Crown Prince) represented His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej the Great at the Diamond Jubilee Celebration of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth the Second in 2012. In 1988, His Majesty King Charles the Third (then His Royal Highness the Prince of Wales) visited Thailand, as Guest of Their Majesties The King and Queen of Thailand, on the auspicious occasion of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej the Great’s 5th Cycle Birthday Anniversary.
