Applicants are required to set up an account and submit visa applications as an individual, or apply through travel agencies as previously, where travel agencies will submit online applications on their behalf. However, supporting documents have to be attached and payment has to be made online through secured portal. Applicants can either book an appointment to submit their passports and visa applications in person at the Embassy, or submit them by post (for those who are eligible to do so).
Effective from 1 April 2019, the Embassy will increase visa fees in correspondence to the changes in currency exchange rate. Click here for the new fees.
**Important notice**
Please note the validity of visa and permitted length of stay below.
Passport holders of the countries eligible for Tourist Visa Exemption Scheme are not required to obtain a visa when entering Thailand for tourism purposes and will be permitted to stay in Thailand for a period not exceeding 30 days on each visit (please click on the list for more details).
Foreigners who enter Thailand under this Tourist Visa Exemption Scheme may only do so for 30 days at one time with a maximum of 3 times in a 6-month period by flight and 2 times a year for overland crossing.
Foreigners entering Thailand under the Tourist Visa Exemption scheme must show the documents listed below at the port of entry:
Tourist Visa Exemption only applies to foreigners holding passports issued by the countries listed here. Foreigners who are of other nationalities who hold travel documents issued by these countries will not be entitled to the same privilege.
Remarks:
(**)Thailand holds bilateral agreements on visa exemption for holders of diplomatic, official and ordinary passports for a visit not exceeding 90 days with Brazil, the Republic of Korea and Peru. Therefore, nationals of these 3 countries are exempted from visa requirements and are permitted to enter and stay in Thailand for a period not exceeding 90 days.

Requirement
This type of visa is issued to applicants who wish to enter Thailand for tourism and medical treatment purposes only.
For other purposes than tourism and medical treatment, visitors to Thailand must apply for Non-Immigrant visas.
Validity of visa and permitted length of stay
Single Entry Tourist Visa :
Single Entry Tourist Visa will be valid for 3 months from the date of issue. You must enter Thailand within the validity of visa.
However, the permitted length of stay is up to 60 days from the date of arrival in Thailand. Travellers should carefully check the immigration stamps in their passports regarding the exact length of stay to ensure that they do not overstay their visa.
Nationals of countries which are on Thailand’s Tourist Visa Exemption list or have bilateral agreements on visa exemption with Thailand will be permitted to stay for a period of not exceeding 14, 30, or 90 days (please click to see the list for more details). Nationals from other countries who hold a tourist visa will be permitted to stay in Thailand for a period of not exceeding 60 days.
Multiple Entry Tourist Visa :
Multiple Entry Tourist Visa will be valid for 6 months from the date of issue. You must enter Thailand within the validity of visa.
Travellers with this type of visa will be permitted to stay in Thailand not exceeding 60 days for each entry within the period of 6 months from the date of arrival in Thailand. Please check the immigration stamp in the passport regarding the exact length of stay.

For visiting or staying with family resided in Thailand (less than 60 days)
For recreational learning or training in related activities (e.g. scuba diving, boxing, Thai massage, Thai culinary courses)

Extension of Stay
Those who wish to stay longer or may wish to change their type of visa must file an application for permission at the Office of Immigration Bureau (http://www.immigration.go.th). The extension of stay as well as the change of certain type of visa is solely at the discretion of the Immigration officer.
Additional Requirements
Nationals of certain countries are required to apply for a visa only at the Thai Embassy or Consulate-General in their home/residence country or at the designated Thai Embassy. Therefore, travellers are advised to contact the nearest Thai Embassy or Consulate-General to find out where they may apply for a visa to Thailand before departure.
